The International Labour Organization (ILO), founded in 1919, and in 1946 became the first specialized agency of the UNITED NATIONS. Today, the ILO has 183 member countries-participants. Ukraine is a member of the ILO since 1954. ILO – is a unique tripartite organization, which brings together representatives of governments, employers and workers organizations for the joint development of policies and programmes. The ILO as the world organization is responsible for the development of International labour standards and carries out supervision over compliance with them. In cooperation with the countries-members of the organization, the ILO seeks to ensure the observance of labour standards at the legislative level and in practice. |
